Nature’s fury has once again wreaked havoc across northern India. From Himachal Pradesh to Punjab and from Jammu & Kashmir to Uttarakhand, heavy rains have triggered massive floods and landslides, leaving thousands of families displaced and villages submerged. The destruction has brought back memories of past calamities, with Punjab in particular facing its most severe deluge since 1988.
The situation has worsened due to the swelling of the Sutlej, Beas and Ravi rivers, along with seasonal rivulets that overflowed after incessant rains in their catchment areas in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. The worst-hit districts in Punjab include Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur and Amritsar. Continuous rainfall has intensified the flooding, making life extremely challenging for local residents.
Hina Khan Urges Fans to Pray for Himachal, Punjab, J&K and Uttarakhand
Amid this devastation, actress Hina Khan stepped forward to raise awareness and express her concern. Taking to Instagram, she shared a heartfelt story, urging her followers to pray for the people of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand. Her emotional appeal struck a chord with her fans, who lauded her compassion during such a trying time.
Shah Rukh Khan Reacts to Punjab Floods With Emotional Message
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan also extended his support to those suffering from the natural disaster. Taking to X, he wrote, “My heart goes out to those in Punjab impacted by these devastating floods. Sending prayers and strength… The spirit of Punjab shall never break… may God bless them all.”

Celebrities Like Sonu Sood, Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma Step In
Shah Rukh Khan and Hina Khan were not the only celebrities to extend support. Actor Sonu Sood, who has earned respect for his humanitarian work, has once again stepped in to help. Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, popular actor Gippy Grewal, singers Karan Aujla, Ammy Virk, Ranjit Bawa and comedian Kapil Sharma have also shown their solidarity with the flood-affected families. Some have offered financial aid, while others are using their platforms to raise awareness and call for collective support.
