Sivakarthikeyan is all set to bring his action thriller Madharaasi to the big screen. Set to release on September 5, the excitement around the film is all-time high. At the film’s pre-release event, the actor spoke candidly about his journey in the industry and addressed comments suggesting he is trying to “attract” Thalapathy Vijay’s fanbase as the superstar is reportedly retiring from acting to focus on politics.
During his speech, Sivakarthikeyan made it clear that true fans cannot be stolen; they are earned with years of hard work and dedication. He said, “Many people are saying that I am trying to steal his (Thalapathy Vijay) fans. No one can steal followers like that, my friend. Fans are actually a power. When Vijay sir said he’s gonna do his last film and enter politics, each of his fans followed him.”

Further talking about other Tamil cinema legends and their loyal fanbases, he added, “Even when Ajith sir dissolved his fan clubs years ago, fans didn’t bat an eye and still follow him.” The actor continued, “Kamal sir, an artist unlike any other in India, his fans still stand with him because he is a true artist. Also, Rajini sir, he has been a superstar for 50 years because of his fans.”
Sivakarthikeyan also acknowledged his fellow stars, saying that Suriya, Vikram, Simbu and Dhanush also have their own dedicated fanbases. Concluding his heartfelt speech, the actor mentioned that no one can take away others’ fans, adding, “Within my strength, as an actor for 13 years, I managed to attract a few people as my fans.”
Madharaasi Star Cast
Madharaasi follows the journey of a man who will go to any lengths for a personal mission. The action thriller stars Rukmini Vasanth of Kantara Chapter 1 fame as the female lead, while Vidyut Jammwal plays the antagonist. Alongside them are Biju Menon, Monisha Vijay, Vikranth, Shabeer Kallarakkal and more in the supporting roles.
Directed by AR Murugadoss. Madharaasi marks Anirudh Ravichander’s third collaboration with the filmmaker after they worked together in Kaththi and Darbar.
Apart from Madharaasi, Sivakarthikeyan is also busy filming his upcoming period drama Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara. The film also features Ravi Mohan, Sreeleela and Atharvaa Murali.
