Param Sundari witnesses a strong day 5 surge, taking its India net to Rs 34.25 crore with strong holds in Jaipur, NCR, and evening shows in key metros.

Param Sundari is directed by Tushar Jalota.
After a promising opening weekend, Param Sundari has picked up pace again. Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, the romantic drama showed momentum on day 5, September 2, with an impressive Rs 4.25 crore added to its tally. With this, the film’s domestic net box office collection stands at Rs 34.25 crore.
The Tuesday hold comes as a relief after Monday’s 68% drop, where collections slipped to Rs 3.25 crore from a strong Sunday high of Rs 10.25 crore.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Jaipur led regional occupancy on Tuesday with an impressive 24.33%. The city peaked during afternoon (31%) and evening (27%) shows, underlining a growing pull in Tier-2 markets. NCR followed with a steady 18.33% occupancy, maintaining momentum throughout afternoon and evening screenings.
Metros like Bengaluru (17.67%) and Mumbai (16%) also contributed positively, particularly during prime evening slots. Kolkata posted an interesting trend, starting low at 6% in the morning but surging to 27% by evening, reflecting strong post-work turnout.
On the flip side, Surat (4.33%), Chandigarh (8.67%), Ahmedabad (9.67%), and Bhopal (9.67%) posted underwhelming numbers. Meanwhile, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Pune, and Chennai remained in the mid-range, clocking between 11% to 14.67% with better evening holds.
Audience reception and reviews
Released on August 29, Param Sundari has opened to a mixed yet favourable audience response. Critics have praised the film for its warmth and chemistry between the lead pair. A review from News18.com noted: “Sidharth Malhotra slips comfortably into Param’s shoes, flexing more charm than muscle this time. His chemistry with Janhvi Kapoor crackles, especially in the quieter interludes… Param Sundari is a comfort food cinema. Familiar, yes, but warm, fragrant, and deeply satisfying.”
The supporting cast, particularly Manjot Singh as Jaggi, has been appreciated for adding depth and comic relief while anchoring the film’s emotional core. With soulful music led by Sonu Nigam and Krishnakali Saha, the film carries nostalgic charm.
As the second weekend approaches, trade experts are keenly observing whether the film can maintain its current momentum. If evening and Tier-2 city occupancies remain strong, Param Sundari could cross Rs 50 crore within its first 10 days.
