Rupali Ganguly slams Donald Trump’s adviser Peter Navarro for his “Brahmins profiteering” remark, saying Indians stand united against casteist jibes.

Anupamaa star Rupali Ganguly lashed out at Donald Trump’s trade adviser Peter Navarro for his controversial “Brahmins profiteering” remark.
Rupali Ganguly, who has never shied away from voicing her opinions on social and political issues, has once again spoken out—this time against former Donald Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro. On Monday, the Anupamaa actress took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn Navarro’s controversial statement targeting Brahmins, calling his remarks “casteist” and “an attempt to deflect blame.”
Rupali wrote, “Let’s be clear! Brahmins aren’t responsible for your failed trade policies or America’s economic mess. Targeting a community with casteist jibes won’t hide your record of blunders. Don’t drag Brahmins or India to hide your mess. That old trick won’t work anymore, Indians stand united.”

Peter Navarro’s Controversial Comment
The backlash came after Navarro, speaking to Fox News, brought India into his criticism of global politics. While praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Navarro remarked, “Look, Modi’s a great leader. I don’t understand why he’s getting into bed with Putin and Xi Jinping when he’s the biggest democracy in the world. So I would just simply say to the Indian people: please, understand what’s going on here. You’ve got Brahmins profiteering at the expense of the Indian people. We need that to stop. Yeah, and we’ll be watching that closely.”
The statement immediately sparked outrage, with many Indians slamming Navarro for dragging caste identities into geopolitical discourse. Rupali Ganguly’s strong rebuttal quickly went viral, with fans and netizens praising her for taking a stand.
Rupali Ganguly on Social Issues
This isn’t the first time Rupali has used her platform to speak up. Just a couple of weeks ago, she strongly reacted to the Supreme Court’s order directing that stray dogs in Delhi-NCR be shifted to shelter homes. Sharing a heartfelt video with a stray dog, she had written: “Ye Desh inka bhi hai, Ye Duniya inki bhi hai. Compassion and Kindness over hatred and cruelty. Jai Pashupatinath.”
Anupamaa Reigns Supreme
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Rupali continues to rule television with her hit show Anupamaa. In week 33, the series topped the TRP charts with a solid rating of 2.3, maintaining its position as India’s most-watched daily soap.
