BTS’ Jimin unexpectedly became the centre of K-pop gossip after a TikTok video by actor Song Da Eun went viral. In the clip, uploaded on August 27, Da Eun greets Jimin as he steps out of an elevator, sparking speculation among fans about a potential romantic link. Though the encounter lasted just seconds, it was enough to ignite discussions across social media, with fans dissecting every detail.
Song Da Eun’s cheerful gesture, combined with her decision to post the video publicly, fuelled curiosity and rumours, leading ARMYs to question whether there was more than friendship between the two. The situation gained such momentum that BigHit Music, known for rarely commenting on dating rumours, reportedly released an official statement on August 31.
BigHit Music Clarifies Jimin’s Past Affection
In a rare move, BigHit Music addressed the swirling speculation surrounding Jimin and Da Eun. According to Korean media reports, the agency stated:
“Our company has refrained from making any statements until now in order to respect Jimin’s private life as well as the individual being mentioned in relation to it. However, as speculative reports concerning the artist’s personal life have continued to surface and groundless rumors have been circulating, we find it unavoidable to clarify the bare minimum facts. The artist and the individual in question were once acquainted with mutual affection in the past, but that was several years ago, and they are not in a relationship at present. We ask that you refrain from making reckless speculations about their private lives.”
The candid admission confirmed that Jimin and Da Eun once shared mutual affection, but stressed that their relationship ended years ago. Fans were surprised by the statement, given BigHit’s usual tendency to stay silent on dating matters. The agency also urged the public to avoid actions that could harm the individuals involved.

Song Da Eun gained fame through the reality show Heart Signal 2 in 2018 and has since acted in dramas like Can’t Lose (2011) and Live and Once Again (2020). Her TikTok video unexpectedly thrust her back into the spotlight, drawing global attention from K-pop fans.
Meanwhile, Jimin remains focused on his career. Having completed his military service in June 2025, the singer is preparing alongside BTS for their highly anticipated comeback in spring 2026.
