A viral moment from a stage event in Lucknow has left the Bhojpuri industry buzzing. Actor Pawan Singh was caught on camera in a clip that appeared to show him touching his co-star Anjali Raghav inappropriately while promoting their song Saiya Seva Kare. The video spread quickly online, sparking outrage and forcing Anjali to break her silence.

After two days of backlash, Pawan Singh took to Instagram to address the matter. In his story, he wrote, “Anjali ji, vyasth schedule ke kaaran main aapka live dekh nahi paaya. Mujhe jab iss baat ki jaankari huyi, toh mujhe bura laga. Mera aapke prati koi bhi galat intention nahi tha kyuki humlog kalakaar hai. Iske bawajood, agar aapko humari kisi bhi vyawahaar se takleef hui ho toh uske liye main shama prarthi hoon.”
Anjali Raghav reacts to Pawan Singh’s apology
Anjali later posted her reaction to Pawan Singh’s apology, confirming she had accepted it and forgiven him. “Pawan singh ji ne apni galti ki manfi mangli hai. wo mujhse bade hai aur senior artist hai… maine unhe manf kar dia hai… mai is bat ko aur aage nahi badhana chahti Jai Shree Ram.”
The actress, best known for her Haryanvi music videos, had earlier said she was deeply upset since the incident and even announced she would step away from Bhojpuri films. In her Instagram stories, she revealed she had faced endless questions and criticism, with some even mocking her reactions in memes.

“Kuch log mujhe hi galat samajh rahe hain. Kuch memes pe likh rahe hain ki ye to hass rahi thi, maze le rahi thi. Kya public mein koi mujhe touch karke jaayega, usmein mujhe Khushi hogi? Mujhe maze aayenge? (Some people are blaming me. Some memes say, ‘She was smiling, enjoying herself.’ Do you think if someone touches me in public, I would be happy about it? That I would enjoy it?)” she questioned in a video.
Anjali said that while speaking on stage, Pawan pointed at her waist and told her something was stuck there. She thought it might be the tag of her new saree or blouse and laughed it off, assuming she could fix it later. “Jab baad mein maine apne team member se pucha ki kuch laga hai, unhone kaha ki kuch bhi nahi laga tha. Tab mujhe bohot zyada bura laga, gussa aaya aur rona bhi aaya. Lekin mujhe samajh nahi aaya ki main kya karun? (Later, when I asked my team member if anything was actually there, they said, ‘No, nothing was there.’ That’s when I felt really bad, got angry, and even felt like crying. But I didn’t know what to do),” she said.
Though Anjali said she does not want to prolong the controversy, the video has left fans debating workplace behaviour in the Bhojpuri industry. Many are still reacting to her earlier announcement that she no longer wishes to work in the space after the incident.
