Ashnoor Kaur reveals facing harsh conditions as a child actor, including 30 hour shoots and water only diets, before rising to fame in shows like Jhansi Ki Rani and Bigg Boss 19.

Ashnoor Kaur has spoken about the tough times she faced as a child actor. She shared that at just six years old, she was made to work extremely long hours and was even put on strict water-only diets, which once caused her to faint on set. Ashnoor, who is currently in Bigg Boss 19, started working at the age of four. She played the role of Prachi in Jhansi Ki Rani.
Ashnoor shared that because her shows are successful now, she has the comfort of working only 12 hours a day. But she remembered a time when she was just six years old and had to work for nearly 30 hours at a stretch. She told Hauterrfly, “I’ve shot for 30 hours continuously. I was six at the time, and I was doing a show called Shobha Somnath Ki. I was so tired that I couldn’t function at all. My mother suggested that I take a nap for a couple of hours in the vanity. The production guys waited outside while I napped for safety, and then I started again.”
She also spoke about struggling with body image and said she once followed a strict water-only diet to look a certain way for her show. “I fainted on set once, but I didn’t tell anybody that I wasn’t eating,” she added.
Ashnoor started her acting career in 2009 with the show Jhansi Ki Rani. She soon became one of the most well-known child actors on television, appearing in shows like Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, Shobha Somnath Ki, Mahabharat (as young Dushala), and Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev. Her breakthrough as a lead actor came with Patiala Babes (2018–2020) on Sony TV, where she played Mini Khurana and became a familiar face in households. She has also been seen in small roles in Bollywood films such as Sanju and Manmarziyaan.
Ashnoor is now seen in Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss 19. The season also includes actors such as Gaurav Khanna, Kunickaa Sadanand, Zeishan Quadri, and Baseer Ali, along with popular influencers like Mridul Tiwari, Awez Darbar, Nagma Mirajkar, and Tanya Mittal. The show began on August 24 and airs on JioCinema at 9 pm, followed by Colors TV at 10:30 pm.
