Rashmika Mandanna Shares BTS Pics From The Girlfriend Sets
Rashmika Mandanna is one of the most bankable actresses. She has many films lined up in her kitty. Well, her long-awaited film The Girlfriend is all set to release. Today, she treated fans with behind-the-scenes (BTS) pictures from the film’s sets. The actress also penned a heartfelt note praising the film’s director, Rahul Ravindran, for his vision and guidance throughout the shoot.
Taking to their Instagram handle, the makers shared BTS photos and wrote, “There’s something so beautiful in the way @rahulr_23 portrayed @rashmika_mandanna here in #TheGirlfriend. IDK to exactly articulate it into words but i feel, in her 9 years elaborate career across industries…Rahul Ravindran brought something in her which we haven’t seen earlier. Like it feels that she’s so into the character even though i don’t know what the character is…I don’t know this makes sense or not but this is what i feel So So looking forward to the film. Going to be really special and memorable for me. Whenever i rewatch my till date most favorite performance of Rashmika Mandanna which is LILLY from DEAR COMRADE, i always feel she has so much of potential and it just needs one writer-filmmaker to tap into the unexplored areas of her potential and the results will be MAGICAL…and i think @rahulr_23 exactly did that here and i really can’t wait to see the magical that they both have created together @rashmika_mandanna.”
Rashmika also shared the photos and wrote, “@rahul_23 he truly is something else. It stuns me every freaking day how he’s able to capture such layered performances from his artists to this extent with absolute ease.”
About the film The Girlfriend:
The film is touted as a compelling romantic drama and is funded by GA2 Pictures, Mass Movie Makers and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment. The teaser centres on the love life of Rashmika’s character in college. Even though the film’s plot remains unknown, we can witness Rashmika’s character struggle in her relationship with her boyfriend, played by Dheekshith Shetty. Fans have been waiting for the film to release. The announcement was made in 2024 and since then the release date has not been revealed.
Rashmika’s work front:
Rashmika has announced the next Mysaa. A first-look poster was also released. The actress explained that the role symbolises a side of herself that she had never encountered until now. Mandanna took to Instagram to release the first-look poster, which features her in a ferocious and furious avatar.
The poster shows her partially veiled, with half of her face covered and blood marks visible, adding to the severity of her appearance. Rashmika Mandanna wears a traditional saree with tribal-inspired decorations and finishes her outfit with a stunning moon-shaped bindi. The intense first-look billboard depicts her furious glare, as well as obvious bloodstains on her face and body, implying the character’s raw and powerful nature.
Thama:
She also has horror comedy Thama with Ayushmann Khurrana. The film is releasing on Diwali and has been grabbing attention. Recently, the teaser was released. Sharing the teaser, the makers wrote: “Na darr kabhi itna shaktishaali tha, aur na pyaar kabhi itna BLOODY! Brace yourself this Diwali to witness the first love story in the Maddock Horror-Comedy Universe. Step into the World of Thama, a cinematic experience unlike anything you’ve seen before, storming into cinemas worldwide.” The teaser opens with glimpses of Ayushmann and Rashmika’s chemistry, portraying them as lovers destined to be together. The visuals set the stage for what appears to be a moving tale of passion.
