Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor are gearing up for the release of their much-awaited romantic comedy Param Sundari, which hits cinemas this weekend. With advance bookings opening yesterday, the film has already started showing promising signs at the box office.
Param Sundari Crosses 12,000 Ticket Sales in National Chains
As per Pinkvilla, by 11 PM on August 27, Param Sundari had sold more than 12,000 tickets across the top three national chains—PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis—for its opening day alone. Trade experts believe this is a decent start for the rom-com, which is directed by Tushar Jalota. The film is expected to gain momentum from Friday onwards and is predicted to close its advance booking around 40,000 admissions.
Produced by Maddock Films, the movie has generated considerable buzz among audiences, particularly due to its hit track Pardesiya sung by Sonu Nigam, which has already become a chartbuster. The promotional trailers and teasers have also been well received. However, fans have noticed that Sidharth and Janhvi have kept their film promotions relatively low-key, with fewer media interviews and public appearances compared to typical Bollywood releases.
Film Tracking Rs 8 Crore Opening, Strong Weekend Expected
According to early estimates, Param Sundari is likely to secure a strong opening at the box office, with collections predicted to fall in the range of Rs 7–8 crore net on day one. Since the storyline revolves around two individuals from different states who come together in unexpected circumstances, the film is expected to appeal to a wide audience base.
Industry experts point out that the movie’s long-term success will largely depend on word-of-mouth and the reactions of early audiences. With little competition from other major releases this weekend, Maddock Films is well-positioned to maximize the advantage. The studio is known for producing surprise box office hits that start modestly but grow significantly through positive reception.
With recent successes like Stree 2 and Chhaava, Maddock has built a reputation for backing strong content-driven entertainers. Whether Param Sundari continues this winning streak will be something to watch out for in the coming days.
