Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have officially entered wedding mode. After two years of dating, the couple shared their engagement news on Instagram on Tuesday, Aug. 26, with a stunning photo of Swift’s massive antique diamond. The post read, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” and featured Kelce on one knee, the couple embracing, and a close-up of Swift’s extraordinary engagement ring.

Swift’s engagement ring is an 8-carat Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond set on a gold band—a historic cut dating from the early 18th to late 19th century. Fine jewelry experts note that Old Mine Cut diamonds are recognizable by their small table, larger culet, high crown, and 58 unique facets, making each one truly one-of-a-kind.
According to Benjamin Khordipour from Estate Diamond Jewelry, “Taylor Swift was proposed to with a stunning elongated antique cushion-cut diamond that is approximately eight carats, F color, and VS1 clarity. The ring was handcrafted in 18k yellow gold and the center diamond is set with needle point prongs that perfectly match the antique style. Smaller diamonds and hand-engravings adorn the shoulders of her setting.”
The custom ring was designed by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, giving Swift a piece that is both historic and modern. While the exact price hasn’t been officially revealed, experts estimate it to be around $550,000—roughly Rs 4.5-4.8 crore in INR.
A Romance Rooted in Music and Sports
The Swift-Kelce love story began in summer 2023, when Kelce attended Swift’s Eras Tour in Kansas City. In a now-famous moment, Kelce brought a handmade friendship bracelet with his number, though he didn’t manage to hand it over at first. On the New Heights podcast, he explained, “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings… I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”
The couple went public in the fall of 2023 when Swift attended a Kansas City Chiefs game with Kelce’s mother, Donna. “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple,” Swift told TIME magazine.
