Lil Nas X was charged with four felonies after his viral Studio City arrest.
Lil Nas X is facing serious legal trouble after being officially charged with four felony counts by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. The Grammy-winning rapper, born Montero Hill, was arrested last week after being spotted wandering naked along Ventura Boulevard in Studio City.
According to prosecutors, Lil Nas X is facing three felony counts of battery with injury against a police officer and one felony count of resisting an executive officer. He is scheduled to be arraigned at the Van Nuys courthouse and has been held without bail since his arrest at Valley Jail in Van Nuys.
Police say the incident unfolded around 5:50 a.m. Thursday. Officers responded after reports of a man behaving erratically. “Upon arrival the suspect charged at officers and was taken into custody,” LAPD Officer Charles Miller confirmed. The rapper was transported to a local hospital for a possible overdose before being booked on multiple charges.
Video footage obtained by TMZ quickly went viral. The clip shows Lil Nas X strutting down the street in only white cowboy boots and underwear, at times completely naked, interacting with bystanders and saying, “Hey, don’t be late to the party tonight.” The bizarre footage shocked fans and sparked widespread concern on social media.
Thousands of supporters took to Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) to send prayers and express worry. “Pray for him instead of laughing,” one fan wrote, while another commented, “He’s clearly not okay… he needs help, not jail.”
This is not the first time the 25-year-old rapper has shared health struggles. In April, Lil Nas X revealed he was hospitalised after experiencing partial facial paralysis, which left fans worried about his well-being.
Rising to fame in 2018 with the record-breaking single “Old Town Road,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 consecutive weeks, Lil Nas X quickly became one of the most prominent names in music. Known for his bold style and unapologetic persona, the rapper has often been in the spotlight for both his artistry and controversies.
Now, as he faces multiple felony charges and a court appearance, questions about his mental health and future career loom large. Fans, meanwhile, continue to rally behind him, hoping he receives the help and support he needs during this troubling time.
