Kajol-led The Trial is back with Season 2, and the newly released trailer promises high-voltage drama, fresh faces, and gripping twists. At the show’s trailer launch, Kajol was joined by her co-stars Kubbra Sait and Karanvir Sharma, both of whom are set to bring new layers to the courtroom saga.

Kubbra Sait returns as Sana Shaikh

Kubbra Sait, who plays Sana Shaikh in The Trial, is equally excited to be back. Speaking at the launch, she revealed, “The first thing that truly excited me about being a part of the family again is that ye meri zindagi ka pehla season two hai. So far, in any of the shows I’ve done, either my character gets killed off or the makers never make a second season. So, I’d just go hunt for another job.”

On working with Kajol and Jisshu Sengupta again, Kubbra said, “It’s been an honour and a life-changing experience. With Season 2, I get the chance to elevate my performance, and that’s possible only because of our incredible director Umesh Bisht.”

Giving a hint about her character arc, she added, “Sana is very secretive. In Season 1, Noyonika found her true friend in Sana, but in Season 2, it’s Sana who finds her true friend in Noyonika.” Besides The Trial Season 2, Kubbra will also be seen in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai alongside Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur.

Karanvir Sharma joins The Trial 2 cast as an ambitious new partner at Noyonika’s law firm

Marking his return to OTT after a short break, Karanvir Sharma makes a powerful entry in The Trial Season 2 as Param Munjal, an ambitious new partner at Noyonika’s law firm. The trailer introduces him as a sharp, charismatic figure whose arrival threatens to change the game — from altering equations within the firm to testing Noyonika’s personal and professional life.

Speaking at the launch, Karanvir said, “This role gave me a chance to step into uncharted territory as an actor. Param Munjal is layered, ambitious, and someone who thrives in grey areas. It was challenging to bring out those complexities, but under Umesh Bisht sir’s direction, I found the right rhythm.”

He also showered praise on Kajol, recalling his first scene with her. “Kajol made it so comfortable for me. After so many years of superstardom and being such a phenomenal actor, she is so grounded and humble. The kind of compassion she has is infectious, and I loved it,” he said. This marks Karanvir’s fourth stint with Disney+ Hotstar, after Girl in the City, Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani, and A Thursday.

What to expect from The Trial 2

With Karanvir Sharma’s fresh entry as Param Munjal and Kubbra Sait’s intriguing return as Sana Shaikh, The Trial Season 2 promises a deeper exploration of power struggles, friendships, and hidden secrets. Backed by Kajol and Jisshu Sengupta’s powerful screen presence and Umesh Bisht’s direction, the show releases on September 19, 2025.
