Sivakarthikeyan’s much-awaited action thriller Madharaasi is all set to hit the big screens on September 5, 2025, and excitement around the film is steadily building. While fans await the trailer and soundtrack launch on August 24, buzz around the movie suggests that the team has already sealed deals for its OTT and satellite premieres.
According to industry chatter, Madharaasi has reportedly closed an OTT deal with Amazon Prime Video, ensuring that the film will stream on the platform after its theatrical run. Additionally, the ZEE Network is said to have bagged the satellite rights, though the makers have yet to make an official announcement.
The hype around Madharaasi continues to grow as the makers prepare for a star-studded trailer and audio launch event this weekend. Sharing the news on social media, the team wrote, “Get ready for a star-studded evening. #Madharaasi Audio & Trailer launch event on August 24th. Grand release worldwide on September 5th.”
Directed by AR Murugadoss, who returns to Tamil cinema after five years since Darbar (2020), the film features Sivakarthikeyan in a high-intensity role set against the northern regions of India. The story follows a man navigating a life-altering crisis, blending Murugadoss’ signature mass storytelling with Anirudh Ravichander’s electrifying music.
The cast also includes Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut Jammwal, and Biju Menon in pivotal roles, alongside Shabeer Kallarakkal, Vikranth, Prem Kumar, and Sanjay. With such a lineup, Madharaasi is positioned as one of the biggest Tamil releases of the year.
Sivakarthikeyan, who was last seen in the blockbuster biographical drama Amaran, has been on a winning streak. Following Madharaasi, he will next be seen in Sudha Kongara’s Parasakthi, a period drama based on the anti-Hindi agitation of 1960s Tamil Nadu.
