Sriram Raghavan’s much-anticipated war drama Ikkis, starring Agastya Nanda, has been postponed to November 7, 2025.

Sriram Raghavan is widely regarded as one of the most celebrated filmmakers of Hindi cinema, with masterpieces like Andhadhun and Johnny Gaddar earning him cult status. Naturally, his next project, Ikkis, has been one of the most anticipated films of the year. Starring Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, the film marks his theatrical debut and second acting project after his appearance in Zoya Akhtar’s 2023 Netflix original The Archies. While Ikkis was originally scheduled for release on October 2, Bollywood Hungama has now confirmed that the film has been postponed.

A source close to the development revealed, “Ikkis will now release on November 7. The decision was taken by producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films, who felt that the first week of November and the post-Diwali period would be the ideal window for the movie.”

Another industry insider supported this move, pointing out the competitive October 2 line-up. “This is a good move as two major films are scheduled for a release on October 2 – Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1. November 7 is a far better date strategically.”

The war drama, set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak conflict, tells the story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal, who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra at the age of 21. Agastya Nanda essays the role of the war hero, while the film also stars Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat in pivotal roles. With Sriram Raghavan at the helm, Ikkis is expected to bring a blend of raw emotion, patriotic fervor, and Raghavan’s signature cinematic intensity.

However, even the new release date does not give Ikkis a solo run at the box office. The film will now clash with Ek Din, another highly anticipated project featuring Junaid Khan, son of superstar Aamir Khan. Directed by Sunil Pandey and produced under Aamir Khan Productions, Ek Din stars Sai Pallavi alongside Junaid and was shot extensively in Sapporo, Japan, during the Snow Festival.

With two films headlined by star kids releasing on the same day, November 7 is shaping up to be a significant box office battle. For audiences, though, it means a double treat with stories spanning from the battlegrounds of 1971 to the snow-laden streets of Japan.
