Tamannaah Bhatia steps into Ekta Kapoor’s Ragini MMS 3, which takes a bold turn from horror-erotica to horror-comedy with music and scares.

Tamannaah Bhatia is all set to headline Ragini MMS 3, the next installment of Ekta Kapoor’s cult horror franchise. In the post-pandemic era, Tamannaah has been on a career high, with digital hits and big-banner projects adding to her momentum. After the buzz around her track Aaj Ki Raat from Stree 2 and her roles in Vann with Sidharth Malhotra and Rohit Shetty’s film starring John Abraham, the actress is now ready to bring her star power to this much-awaited trilogy closer.
A source told Pinkvilla, “Ekta Kapoor has been wanting to make the third part of Ragini MMS for some time now. After brainstorming multiple ideas, she finally locked on a concept that not only fits within the Ragini MMS universe but also rebrands it into an entirely new genre. The film is expected to go on floors by late 2025.”
The insider added that Kapoor pitched the story to Tamannaah on the sets of Vann, leaving her surprised by its fresh horror quotient. Unlike the earlier installments that leaned heavily into horror-erotica, Ragini MMS 3 will explore a horror-comedy format. The team is also hunting for a big music number with chartbuster potential—similar to the iconic Baby Doll from Ragini MMS 2.
The franchise so far
The Ragini MMS journey began in 2011 with Rajkummar Rao and Kainaz Motivala, followed by Ragini MMS 2 in 2014, led by Sunny Leone. The second film’s success skyrocketed with the hit track Baby Doll, making it a pop culture sensation. With Ragini MMS 3, Ekta Kapoor reportedly aims to craft the franchise’s biggest film yet, giving audiences a mix of scares, laughter, and music.
Alongside this, Kapoor is juggling several other projects, including a mythological thriller directed by Anil Rahi Barve of Tumbbad fame. But for now, all eyes are on Tamannaah Bhatia’s bold new step into the world of Ragini MMS.
