Dhanashree Verma opens up on her divorce from Yuzvendra Chahal, joking she’s not scared of ghosts or darkness, but admits podcasts make her nervous and anxious.

After Yuzvendra Chahal’s recent podcast with Raj Shamani, actress Dhanashree Verma has also finally broken her silence on her divorce with the Indian cricketer. This is the first time Dhanashree opened up about trolling and divorce.
In a chat with Humans Of Bombay, Dhanashree spoke about several allegations Yuzvendra Chahal has put on her on the Raj Shamani podcast and joked, “Pata nahi kaun kal uth ke podcast pe aa jaye kya bol de. So much fear with that to start off with.” She laughed as she added, “Mujhe bhoot se nahi dar lagta. I am not scared of ghosts. I am not scared of dark. It’s crazy, it’s true. I am actually not scared of ghosts, darkness, heights, nothing. But podcasts.”
While she didn’t mention a specific podcast, the interview came after Chahal’s sit-down chat with Raj Shamani, which looked like a direct dig at him.
‘I was just howling and crying’: Dhanashree on divorce verdict
The actress revealed that she broke down before the final verdict on their divorce was given, unlike Chahal.
“I still remember when I was standing there and the verdict was about to be given. Even though we were so well-prepared mentally, I got so emotional. I started howling in front of everybody. I couldn’t even express what I was feeling at that point. I just remember that I just kept crying, I was just howling and crying. Of course! All of that happened, and he (Chahal) walked out first,” Dhanashree said.

Dhanashree Verma is an Indian choreographer, dancer, YouTuber, and dentist by qualification. She gained fame with her dance videos on YouTube and later became a finalist on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11. In December 2020, Dhanashree and Yuzvendra Chahal left their fans buzzing as they took the plunge and got married.
But their happiness was short-lived, and soon after their marriage, reports of trouble in paradise started to grab attention. In 2025, the couple headed for divorce. They were granted a divorce on March 20 and had been living separately for 18 months.

Chahal came to the final day wearing a black T-shirt with ‘Be Your Own Sugar Daddy’ printed on it in a big font. Reacting to that, Dhanashree in the same interview said, “Before I had even known that this T-shirt stunt had happened, we were all aware that people were going to blame me for this. Arre bhai, WhatsApp kar deta. T-shirt kyu pehna hai? (You should have sent it on WhatsApp, why wear the T-shirt?).”
