Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-anticipated period drama Love & War, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, is heading to Madhya Pradesh’s Mhow for its next filming schedule.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is setting the stage for one of 2025’s most anticipated cinematic spectacles with his upcoming film Love & War. Featuring a powerhouse cast of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, the project has already generated immense buzz, thanks to its star power, Bhansali’s legendary filmmaking reputation, and the promise of a sweeping period romance. Now, the production is moving into an exciting new phase — filming in Madhya Pradesh’s historically rich town of Mhow.

Following the completion of its initial schedule in Mumbai, the cast and crew will embark on a 15-day shoot in Mhow, chosen for its timeless charm and deep historical significance. Known for its picturesque cantonment areas, pre-colonial architecture, and storied military history, Mhow was once the headquarters for the British Raj’s Fifth Division of the Southern Command. Its vintage streets and colonial-era buildings are expected to provide an authentic backdrop for Bhansali’s vision, which thrives on meticulous period detailing and visual grandeur. The location’s historical connection to India’s independence adds further depth to the film’s setting, making it an ideal choice for a story steeped in love, loyalty, and conflict.

Set to release on March 26 next year, Love & War takes inspiration from Raj Kapoor’s timeless classic Sangam. The narrative revolves around an emotionally charged love triangle, played out against the backdrop of war, with Bhansali’s signature storytelling style promising a blend of heightened drama, intricate human emotions, and grand visual compositions. The fact that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, a real-life couple, will be portraying lovers on screen for Bhansali adds an extra layer of intrigue, while Vicky Kaushal’s inclusion ensures a compelling dynamic at the heart of the story.

Bhansali, celebrated for opulent epics like Padmaavat, Devdas, and Bajirao Mastani, is expected to bring his hallmark grandeur to Love & War, combining lush cinematography, soulful music, and layered performances. The film’s pre-independence setting offers fertile ground for his artistry — from elaborate set pieces to emotionally resonant storytelling.

With a narrative rooted in timeless romance and personal sacrifice, set against a vivid historical canvas, Love & War is shaping up to be a cinematic event that blends the intimacy of human emotion with the spectacle of epic storytelling — a combination that could make it one of the defining films of 2025.
