The battle at the box office is heating up as Coolie steadily makes its mark against War 2 in Hindi. Initially, most single, dual, and triple screen properties across India were giving full preference to War 2, leaving only a few shows for Coolie.
But the tide is shifting. Over the past four days, advance bookings for Coolie have surged, prompting cinemas to add more shows, according to Bollywood Hungama. The film, which was initially expected to earn Rs. 8 crore on its opening day, has now seen its capacity jump by 60 percent to Rs. 13 crore due to strong audience demand. While War 2 continues to lead overall Hindi screenings, Coolie has the potential to achieve higher occupancy rates in select locations where demand is strongest.

Audience Demand Drives Multiplex Increase
A leading multiplex executive told Bollywood Hungama, “Coolie is performing well in tier 2 and tier 3 centres, and we are increasing the shows accordingly. Audience demand is clear, and we must match it.” Another cinema owner, running a two-screen property, claimed that despite strict instructions from YRF not to give any show to Coolie, they managed to schedule two shows due to popular demand. Ticket sales for these shows have already begun picking up.
The names of multiplex chains and cinema halls are being kept under wraps to protect business interests, but platforms like Book My Show are reflecting the increased availability of Coolie screenings, showing the film’s growing presence in the Hindi market.
The Clash Intensifies
The competition between Coolie and War 2 is shaping up to be one of the year’s most closely watched box office battles. With strong audience demand for both films, cinemas are quickly adjusting schedules. For moviegoers, this means more chances to catch Coolie on the big screen despite the YRF release dominating most venues.
