Travis Kelce couldn’t hold back his emotions while opening up about girlfriend Taylor Swift in his new GQ September cover interview. The heartfelt conversation comes just as Swift announced her highly anticipated 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, during a teaser for Wednesday’s episode of New Heights, the podcast Kelce co-hosts with his brother Jason.
In the teaser, Swift appeared with a briefcase, pulling out the blurred album cover as a surprise. “This is my brand new album The Life of a Showgirl,” she told the Kelce brothers, leaving fans buzzing about what’s next.
Travis Kelce On What Taylor Shares With His Mother
Speaking to GQ, Kelce reflected on the similarities between Swift and his mother, Donna Kelce. “Their kindness, their genuineness, their ability to say hello to everyone in the room. Their ability to show love and support no matter what,” he said.
He also praised both women’s dedication and drive. “I saw my mother reach goals that she had set for herself, go from being a teller to working all the way up in the KeyBank building,” Kelce recalled.
The NFL star admitted he became emotional when speaking about Swift’s career journey. “I’ve seen Taylor do the exact same thing of setting goals for herself and exceeding the expectations and really captivating the world in that regard,” he said, visibly touched.
The Life of a Showgirl Release Details
While Swift has yet to announce an official release date for The Life of a Showgirl, her website states that fans who pre-order will receive their album before October 13.
The new album reveal was just one part of her playful appearance on New Heights, where she shared laughs with Kelce and his brother. Swift’s episode will drop Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET across major platforms, including the Wondery App, Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Podcasts.
Kelce and Swift, who began dating in 2023, have become one of pop culture’s most high-profile couples.
