Jennifer Aniston says she and Gwyneth Paltrow still laugh and talk about Brad Pitt when they meet.
Jennifer Aniston isn’t holding back when it comes to her friendship with Gwyneth Paltrow—and their shared history with actor Brad Pitt. The Hollywood A-lister openly admitted that she and Gwyneth still talk about their mutual ex when they meet up, blending a bit of nostalgia with the easy humour of long-time friends.
Jennifer Aniston Opens Up About Gossiping With Gwyneth Paltrow
Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow’s relationship dominated headlines in the 1990s, with the pair dating from 1994 to 1997 and even getting engaged before parting ways. Years later, Brad married Jennifer in 2000, a marriage that would last five years before ending in a highly publicised divorce.
In a recent Vanity Fair interview, Jennifer laughed off the idea of avoiding Brad-related topics with Gwyneth. “Ironically, I went to her and Brad’s engagement party. Oh, of course [talk about Brad]. How can we not? We’re girls. We’re always swapping advice—‘What are you doing for this? What are you doing for that? Do you have a new doctor for that?’”
Jennifer Aniston Reflects on Media Scrutiny and Moving Forward
Jennifer also revisited the relentless tabloid coverage during her breakup with Brad, particularly as he was linked to Angelina Jolie. “It was such juicy reading for people. If they didn’t have their soap operas, they had their tabloids. It’s a shame that it had to happen, but it happened. And boy did I take it personally. They were sort of building us up and then tearing you down,” she shared.
Despite the intense media storm surrounding their relationship and eventual divorce, Jennifer and Brad have maintained a cordial relationship over the years. Her friendship with Gwyneth has also endured, unaffected by the shared chapter in their romantic histories.
Looking ahead, Jennifer is channeling her energy into her work. She will return as Alex Levy in season four of The Morning Show, streaming on Apple TV+ from September 17. Reese Witherspoon and Mark Duplass reprise their roles, with Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard joining as Celine Dumont, a new operator who’s set to shake things up on the fictional newsroom floor.
