Recognised as the sacred site where Lord Krishna is believed to have delivered the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on the eve of the Mahabharata war, Jyotisar will undergo major redevelopment as part of the state’s heritage tourism initiative. The government has earmarked approximately ₹250 crore for the project.
“Tourists from across the country and abroad will be able to witness a vibrant and immersive depiction of Kurukshetra’s glorious history at the Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra,” said Saini during his visit to the centre.

He conducted a detailed inspection of the Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra, reviewing various sections of the facility alongside spiritual leader Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj.
The Chief Minister asked officials to expedite the completion of all ongoing construction works at the Anubhav Kendra and its adjoining halls. He stressed the importance of finishing the remaining tasks promptly to facilitate the centre’s opening to the public.
Highlighting the project’s ambition Saini said, “The aim is to make Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra a globally renowned tourist attraction where visitors can engage with the profound history of Mahabharata and Kurukshetra.”
Speaking to reporters, Saini added, “Lord Krishna gave the message of the Bhagavad Gita from the holy land of Kurukshetra. Keeping this divine legacy in mind, the government is accelerating development works at Jyotisar.”

He pointed to the broader national effort to revive India’s heritage, stating, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s cultural heritage has received renewed strength.”
Describing the scale and vision behind the redevelopment, Saini reiterated, “The government is spending nearly ₹250 crore on a Mahabharata-themed project in Jyotisar to preserve and celebrate this heritage, to make it one of the most visited historical destinations in the world.”
The Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra will offer an immersive experience of the Mahabharata era, aiming to attract domestic and international tourists while reinforcing Kurukshetra’s cultural and spiritual significance on the global map.
