Young Delhi batter Priyansh Arya on Friday added another feather to his cap, smashing a 52-ball century for Outer Delhi Warriors in the match no. 12 of the Delhi Premier League 2025. Opening the innings against East Delhi Riders, Arya scored 111 runs of just 56 deliveries with the help of 7 fours and 9 sixes. He thus became the first batter from the national capital to score multiple hundreds in DPL.
After parting ways with South Delhi Superstarz, the 24-year-old endured a turbulent start for his new side with scores of 26, 16, and 8. But the lid came off against East Delhi Riders. After his partner, Sanat Sangwan’s early exit, he joined forces with Karan Garg for a blistering 92-run stand in just 46 balls. He raised his century in the 17th over, before falling prey to Akhil Chaudhary.
Arya’s fireworks helped Outer Delhi Warriors post a daunting 231/7 in 20 overs. But his efforts went in vain as the Riders chase down with four balls to spare, pulling off the highest successful chase in DPL history.
East Delhi Riders had a shaky start and were reduced to 51/3, but the match turned on its head when Arpit Rana and captain Anuj Rawat came together. The duo stitched a remarkable 130-run stand for the fourth wicket, keeping the chase alive with aggressive strokeplay and composure under pressure.
Arpit Rana played a vital knock, scoring 79 off 45 balls with 8 boundaries and 4 sixes, while skipper Anuj Rawat led from the front with a blazing 84 off just 35 deliveries, hammering 2 fours and 9 sixes to put the finishing touches on a remarkable win.

Arya had a stellar 2024 season where he amassed 608 runs at 67.56 and a strike rate near 200. He went on to secure an IPL contract with Punjab Kings in the 2025 mega auction. He justified the hype in his debut season, amassing 475 runs in 17 innings at a blazing 179.25 strike rate. His standout knocks, a 103 against Chennai Super Kings and a career-best 141, proved instrumental in guiding Punjab to the final under Shreyas Iyer’s leadership.
