The first glimpse of War 2 — featuring Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. — dropped with high expectations, especially given the popularity of its predecessor and its place in the YRF Spy Universe. But if early reactions online are anything to go by, not all fans are convinced just yet.
One user wrote, “Hrithik and NTR lack the chemistry to sell the rivalry thing they have in the story. Tiger and Hrithik had so much more vibe in War,” capturing what many others echoed on social media. Another comment that’s gaining traction simply said, “Don’t get why there’s a dance-off… aren’t they enemies?”
While the teaser brings together two big stars, some fans feel the energy doesn’t quite match up to the original. “I want it to be good… but everything looks so mid and boring,” posted a user on X. Another added, “I feel anything this movie earns will only be on the stardom of its actors. Apne aap mein toh kaafi non-exciting hai.”
Much of the comparison comes back to Tiger Shroff’s absence. His presence in War — especially in the action scenes and dynamic with Hrithik — left a lasting impression that’s clearly being missed. As one post put it, “This doesn’t have the same pull without Tiger.”
Of course, this is just the first look, and there’s still time for the film to win audiences over.
Meanwhile, the makers of War 2 have unveiled the first look of the much-anticipated song Janaabe Aali, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR in what appears to be an intense dance face-off. The visuals tease a high-energy track that brings together two of Indian cinema’s most dynamic performers on one stage. Needless to say, it promises a grand musical showdown. Janaabe Aali is set against a lavish backdrop, with stylised choreography and a larger-than-life setup. The song will only be seen in its entirety on the big screen, according to Yash Raj Films.
