Ravi Teja’s Mass Jathara, originally set for August 27, is postponed due to an industry strike and delays.

Some glimpses from the film.
The highly anticipated Ravi Teja-starrer Mass Jathara, which was scheduled to release on August 27, will no longer meet its planned date. The makers have officially postponed the film, attributing the decision to ongoing challenges within the Telugu film industry and delays in wrapping up key portions of the project. A new release date is yet to be announced.
In a formal statement, the production team explained that the strike across the industry had disrupted the schedule and made it difficult to complete the film in time. “The decision was taken due to industry-wide strike and sudden delays in completing crucial portions,” they said, adding that the film would not be rushed to theatres. Instead, the team is focused on delivering what they described as the project “at its absolute best.”
Despite the delay, work on the film continues at speed, with the producers highlighting the scale and ambition of the entertainer. “Every department is focused on shaping the film into what they mentioned as a ‘festival-style entertainer,’” the statement read. They also reassured audiences that an update on the release date, along with “additional surprises,” would be shared in the coming weeks.
Hints about the postponement had surfaced earlier when producer Naga Vamsi shared a cryptic note on X. “At the cinemas for the cinema, always! See you all with our next outing #MassJathara, Very Soon!” he wrote, leaving fans speculating about the fate of the release.
The delay follows chatter online surrounding Vamsi’s recent ventures. With his last two films, Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda, and War 2 in the Telugu states, not faring strongly at the box office, speculation mounted about the financial implications for his next project.
Addressing the trolling, the producer responded with humour. “Seems like you’re all missing me a lot. Vamsi this, Vamsi that, buzzing with gripping narratives. Not bad, there are many good writers on X. Sorry to disappoint you all, but that time hasn’t come yet at least another 10–15 years to go,” he posted.
Directed by Bhanu Bhogavarapu, Mass Jathara features Ravi Teja in a mass-appeal role alongside Sreeleela and veteran actor Rajendra Prasad. The film is produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, with Srikara Studios presenting it.
The teaser, which was unveiled recently, introduced Ravi Teja in his trademark larger-than-life avatar as a railway police officer.
