Tamil cinema’s celebrated duo Prabhu Deva and Vadivelu, who have entertained audiences with some of the industry’s most memorable comedy hits, are reuniting on the big screen after nearly 25 years. Their new film, directed by Sam Rodrigues, was launched with a traditional puja ceremony in Dubai. Backed by producer KRG Kannan Ravi and co-producer Deepak Ravi, the project brings together a star-studded team and promises to combine nostalgia.

The upcoming venture, tentatively titled Production No. 4, is being directed by Sam Rodrigues and backed by producer KRG Kannan Ravi under KRG Productions, with Deepak Ravi serving as co-producer. The film is expected to blend action, adventure, and comedy. Interestingly, these are the elements that defined many of Prabhu Deva and Vadivelu’s earlier hits.

The two actors, who previously delivered memorable entertainers such as Kadhalan, Engal Anna, Manadhai Thirudivittai, Mr Romeo and Love Birds, are teaming up once again, rekindling the on-screen chemistry that made their pairing iconic in the 1990s and early 2000s.

The launch event in Dubai saw several prominent industry figures in attendance. Among them were Lyca Productions head Subaskaran, actor Jiiva, Studio Green’s Gnanavel Raja, and director Nitish Sahadev.

On the technical side, the film boasts an impressive crew. Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped in to compose the music, while cinematographer Vignesh Vasu will handle the camera. Acclaimed stunt choreographer Peter Hein is set to design the action sequences, with Antony on board as editor. Actor Bablu Prithiviraj, who was recently praised for his performance in Vijay Sethupathi’s Ace, has also joined the cast in a significant role.

According to production sources, filming is scheduled to begin in November this year, with plans to wrap the shoot in a single schedule. Comedian Vadivelu’s films have always been popular among Tamil moviegoers because of his impeccable comic timing and facial expressions.
