Sunita Ahuja has reportedly filed for divorce from Govinda in Bandra family court, alleging adultery, cruelty and desertion; hearings have been ongoing since June.

Sunita Ahuja recently made headlines after she talked about her divorce rumours with Govinda in a recent vlog. Now, a new update suggests that Ahuja has filed for divorce in Bandra Family Court and, as per the report, she has asked for divorce on the grounds of ‘adultery, cruelty and desertion.’
As per Hauterrfly, Sunita Ahuja has filed for divorce under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act 1955. The report claimed that the court had summoned Govinda on May 25 and since June the two have been trying to work things out. While Sunita is quite punctual and has been appearing in court, Govinda has been missing.
Sunita Ahuja Breaks Down
In her recent vlog, Sunita Ahuja was seen addressing the divorce rumours surrounding her marriage. In the vlog, she was seen visiting a temple where, while speaking to the priest, she said that she has been visiting Mahalaxmi Mandir since her childhood.
She further broke down in tears and said, “Main jab Govinda se mili tab maine maata se wahi maanga ke meri shaadi usse ho jaaye aur jeevan acche se jaaye. Maata ne sab mannat poori kiya. Bacche bhi de diye dono. Par har sach milna aasan nahi hota, unch-neech ho jaata hai. Par main maata pe itna vishwas karti hoon ke aaj main agar kuch dekh bhi rahi hoon, toh main jaanti hoon jo mera ghar todne ki koshish karega, usko toh woh baithi hai Maa Kaali.” (When I met Govinda, I prayed to the Goddess that I should get married to him and have a good life. The Goddess fulfilled all my wishes—she even blessed me with two children. But not every truth in life is easy; there are always ups and downs. Still, I have so much faith in the Goddess that whatever I am witnessing today, I know that whoever tries to break my home, Maa Kaali is there.)
Sunita further continued and said, “Ek acche insaan ko aur ek acchi aurat ko dukh dena acchi baat nahi hai. Main teenon maata ko itna prem karti hoon. Jo bhi paristhiti hai aur jo ghar-parivaar todne ki koshish karega, usko Maa bakshegi nahi.” (It is not right to cause pain to a good man and a good woman. I love all the three forms of the Goddess deeply. Whatever the situation may be, anyone who tries to break my family, Maa will not forgive them.)
When Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s Divorce Rumours Made Headlines
In February this year, several media reports claimed that Govinda and Sunita Ahuja had decided to part ways owing to constant disagreements and varied lifestyles. It was also said that Govinda’s growing closeness to a 30-year-old Marathi actress is reportedly a major factor in their alleged split.
Later, their lawyer also stated that even though the couple had filed for divorce six months back, they were getting back together. Lalit Bindal, who is also the actor’s family friend, shared that Govinda and Sunita are “going strong” and that they will always be together.
