Aditya Chopra has reportedly changed Alpha’s screenplay and execution to save Alia Bhatt’s film.

Alpha releases in December this year.
After the smashing success of YRF’s Saiyaara, all eyes were on Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2. While the YRF spyverse film opened to good numbers, it failed to maintain its momentum at the box office and did not manage to impress the audience much. Amid this box office debacle, Alia Bhatt’s Alpha, which is YRF’s next spy film, has come under scrutiny. Reports now suggest that Aditya Chopra himself has stepped in to save the film.
As a report by senior journalist Subhash K Jha, after the disaster of Ayan Mukerji-directed War 2, the inexperience of Alpha director Shiv Rawail has left YRF concerned. Shiv has previously directed The Railway Men, which was a mini-series. YRF executives are reportedly unsure if he can handle a grand project like Alpha.
According to the report, Aditya Chopra has stepped in to reshape and save Alpha. “Sources suggest crucial revisions are being made to both the screenplay and its execution to ensure the film lives up to the studio’s expectations and restores faith in the spy universe brand,” the report claims. However, an official confirmation is yet to be received.
Fans got a glimpse of Alpha in War 2’s post-credit scene. In the sequence, Bobby Deol made a surprise appearance, marking his official entry into the Spy Universe. The scene showed him stamping the logo of an agency on a young girl’s hand. When the girl asked what it meant, Bobby’s character answered, “Alpha.” He explained that Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet and their program’s motto: “The first, the fastest, the strongest.”
This intriguing interaction had fuelled speculation online that the girl might be a younger version of Alia Bhatt’s character in Alpha. Bobby Deol is expected to play the main antagonist in the film, who possibly trains Alia’s character before turning into her nemesis. Fans believe this twist adds a fascinating mentor-turned-enemy dynamic to the upcoming story.
The post-credits moment sent fans into a frenzy, as it firmly established a bridge between War 2 and Alpha, which also stars Sharvari alongside Alia. By revealing Bobby Deol’s villain in advance, YRF laid the groundwork for a darker, more layered expansion of its Spy Universe. With Aditya Chopra reportedly taking a more hands-on approach, will Alpha become a blockbuster hit? We will find out this December.
