Ajay Devgn seems to have found his next big venture – but not in front of the camera. The superstar is said to be backing an ambitious period action-creature film that places Siddhant Chaturvedi in the lead role.
The project is being put together for a leading OTT platform and carries a scale rarely seen in Indian cinema. While Devgn was first approached to play a parallel lead, he reportedly chose to pass on acting duties and instead come on board as producer under his own banner. Mohit Raina has now stepped into that parallel lead role.

The film is set against the backdrop of 1945, a time of huge change in India’s history. Blending creature thrills with a period setting, the untitled project is being described as an experiment that could bring a new flavour to the screen. It also marks the directorial debut of actor Neha Sharma, who is set to take the reins when the shoot begins later this year. Pre-production is currently underway, with cameras expected to roll in October and a release planned for next year.

For Siddhant Chaturvedi, who recently appeared in Dhadak 2, this is another major step in his career. Speaking about the opportunity, he told Bollywood Bubble, “Maybe I’m a bit lucky. Receiving scripts like these makes me feel there is some power up there.”

Ajay Devgn was last seen in Son of Sardar 2. The film also starred the late Mukul Dev, marking his posthumous release. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film featured an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Mrunal Thakur, Neeru Bajwa, Chunky Panday, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Vindu Dara Singh, Roshni Walia, Sharat Saxena, and Sahil Mehta.
Siddhant Chaturvedi was last seen in Dhadak 2, the sequel to the 2018 romantic drama Dhadak. Directed by Shazia Iqbal and backed by Dharma Productions, the sequel stars Siddhant alongside Triptii Dimri.
