Faissal Khan issues notice cutting ties with brother Aamir Khan and family, alleging forced medication, confinement, and defamation.

Faisal Khan is an Indian actor and the younger brother of superstar Aamir Khan.
Veteran actor Faissal Khan, younger brother of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, has announced that he has severed all ties with his family. In a public notice issued on August 16, 2025, the Mela actor declared that he would no longer maintain familial or estate relationships with his relatives, including late father Tahir Husain, mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, and his brother Aamir Khan.
The actor also stated that he would not reside in Aamir Khan’s residence nor seek any financial support or maintenance from him.
“I, FAISSAL KHAN, have, from the date hereof, severed all ties familial, as well as, in estate with my family members,” the notice read.
Allegations of Forced Medication and Confinement
In the notice, Faissal Khan alleged that his decision stemmed from long-standing grievances against his family. He claimed that between 2005 and 2007, he was subjected to “unwanted forced medication” and confined to his home “akin to house arrest” by family members for their personal interests.
The actor further alleged that he was pressured to give up his signatory rights during this period. He claimed that his mother, Zeenat Tahir Husain, and sister, Nikhat Hegde, falsely accused him of suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, presenting him as a “danger to society.”
Faissal stated that these allegations were later rejected in a court case in 2008.
“The court case took about five months for hearing and disposal, and in February 2008, the court passed final judgment in my favour, and rejected the allegations and contentions made by my family members,” the notice highlighted.
Claims of Defamation and Future Legal Action
The actor alleged that the family has continued to conspire against him. He said that in August 2025, his relatives defamed him again by publishing false statements in print and on social media, accusing him of misleading and misrepresenting facts.
“On the contrary, my family members have been responsible for jeopardising my career and creating havoc in my personal and professional life since 2005,” he wrote.
Faissal requested privacy and urged the public and media to refrain from publishing any further commentary or statements about him. He also announced his intention to file a writ petition in the matter within the next month.
“All persons are hereby requested to refrain from publishing any comment and/or statement in the public domain concerning me, and I request them to respect my privacy,” the notice concluded.
Career and Legacy
Faissal Khan is best known for starring alongside Aamir Khan in Mela (2000). Over the years, he has worked intermittently in Hindi cinema, though his career was marred by personal controversies and disputes.
The public severing of ties with one of Bollywood’s most prominent families marks a dramatic turn in Faissal’s life, one that has now been put firmly on record through his official notice.
