Fahadh Faasil delighted fans by channeling his iconic Aavesham character Ranga during the promotions of his upcoming rom-com Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira.
Fahadh Faasil’s 2024 blockbuster Aavesham left an indelible mark on audiences, with his quirky character Ranga becoming a pop culture phenomenon. Ranga’s innocent, wacky, and humorous personality, coupled with Fahadh’s effortless performance, made the film an instant sensation. Beyond the storyline and acting, it was the film’s music and Ranga’s iconic dance steps that captured the internet’s imagination, going viral across platforms and sparking countless reels and memes.
Now, Fahadh Faasil has once again delighted fans by revisiting Ranga on stage. At a promotional event for his upcoming Malayalam rom-com Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, the actor surprised the audience by recreating his much-loved Aavesham dance steps. A video from the event, showing Fahadh channeling his inner Ranga with the same charm and eccentricity, has taken social media by storm, with netizens showering love on ‘Fafa’ for bringing back those viral moves.
The College Event That Went Viral
The promotional event was hosted at a college in Kerala and saw the entire cast and crew of Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira in attendance. Actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, who stars opposite Fahadh in the film, was seen clapping enthusiastically as he recreated the dance steps. Alongside them, Revathy Pillai, producer Aashiq Usman, and director Althaf Salim also graced the stage, making the event a lively prelude to the film’s release.
Kalyani, visibly impressed by Fahadh’s energy, later explained the essence of the film in a single, intriguing line, “Basically, if a Korean rom-com story is narrated satirically in a Woody Allen or Wes Anderson style, how would that be — that is Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira.”
About Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira
Directed and written by Althaf Salim, the film is a romantic comedy infused with the offbeat flavor of Korean dramas, blended with satirical and whimsical storytelling. Fahadh Faasil plays the lead opposite Kalyani Priyadarshan, who essays the role of his romantic partner. The film is designed as a light-hearted entertainer, one that promises to balance quirk, romance, and comedy in equal measure.
The film is slated for release on August 29, 2025, coinciding with the festive season of Onam. Interestingly, the release sets up a box office clash, as Mohanlal’s much-awaited Hridayapoorvam is hitting screens just a day earlier, on August 28, 2025. Adding to the crowded weekend, Kalyani Priyadarshan’s other film Lokah: Chapter One – Chandra is also gearing up for release, although its official date has not yet been announced.
A Nostalgic Callback to Aavesham
Fahadh Faasil’s decision to revisit his Aavesham character Ranga at the event served as a nostalgic callback for fans. The character, remembered for his innocence, eccentricity, and spontaneous humor, struck a chord with audiences worldwide. By recreating those viral dance steps, Fahadh not only paid tribute to his iconic role but also gave fans a moment of joy and nostalgia ahead of his next big release.
As the video continues to go viral, the buzz for Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira has only intensified. With a promising cast, a unique concept, and the star power of Fahadh Faasil, the film is being closely watched as one of the most exciting Malayalam releases of 2025.
