The initiative aimed to foster partnerships, highlight Madhya Pradesh’s diverse offerings for tourists, and encourage investment in sustainable and experiential tourism.
Speaking at the event, Bidisha Mukherjee, Additional Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, emphasised on the state’s rich and multifaceted appeal, “Tourism for us is not just sightseeing but an experience. From cuisine and folk traditions to rural life, our aim is to promote experiential, sustainable and community-centric tourism,” she said.

Mukherjee drew the industry’s attention on Madhya Pradesh’s heritage, culture, natural beauty, and warm hospitality, which offers a unique experience for travellers seeking more than conventional destinations.
A detailed presentation during the roadshow put the spotlight on the state’s key attractions across cultural, historical and spiritual themes. Featured destinations included Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Chitrakoot, Maihar and Amarkantak, all locations that are significant for their religious importance and scenic appeal.
Madhya Pradesh is home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites — the Khajuraho Group of Monuments, the Bhimbetka rock shelters, and the Sanchi Stupa. Mukherjee noted that the state has proposed 15 additional sites for UNESCO’s tentative list, which showcases the vast cultural depth of the state.

To boost tourism, Madhya Pradesh will host a series of festivals and retreats in the coming months. These include the Gandhi Sagar Forest Retreat in Mandsaur starting September 12, the Kuno Forest Retreat in Sheopur from October 5, and the Chanderi Eco Retreat from October 25.
The roadshow that was held in Jaipur was part of Madhya Pradesh’s larger strategy to position itself as a top destination for immersive travel experiences, with a strong focus on sustainability and cultural engagement.
