A video of a heated exchange between SpiceJet employees and passengers at Delhi airport has gone viral, sparking a debate over airline staff behaviour and customer service. The clip captures passengers reacting angrily to an employee’s remark, “SpiceJet sasta hai, isliye aaye ho aap” (SpiceJet is cheap, that’s why you came here).
The argument reportedly began amid a dispute over a flight delay. Shared by the X account @gharkekalesh, the video has prompted mixed reactions, with social media users divided over the conduct of the staff and passengers.
The footage shows travellers confronting employees near a SpiceJet counter as the argument escalates. A woman passenger can be heard demanding an explanation, while others appear to join the exchange and chant, “Shame on SpiceJet”.
The employee’s comment about the airline’s fares appears to have become a key point of contention. During the argument, a woman passenger is also heard commenting on the employees’ salaries, saying, “In logon ki salary 20-25 hazaar hogi” (Their salaries must be ₹20,000-₹25,000). CISF personnel are also visible near the scene as the argument continues inside the busy airport terminal.
The video does not clearly show what started the argument. While the dispute is reportedly linked to a flight delay, the exact reason for the clash remains unclear.

The video has drawn sharply divided reactions online, with some users criticising the employee’s remark as disrespectful and unprofessional, while others questioned what led to the confrontation.
One user criticised the comment, writing, “Passenger dignity is not a premium service!” The user also tagged SpiceJet and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), urging them to investigate the incident and take action.
Another user expressed dissatisfaction with the airline’s service and staff, calling it “the most unreliable flight with ill-mannered staff”. However, some users offered a different perspective. One user said the employee might have been responding to the passenger’s behaviour, adding that the full backstory was unclear.
As the video continues to circulate, questions remain about what triggered the confrontation and whether any action will follow. No official statement from SpiceJet or the airport authorities addressing this specific incident was available at the time of writing.
