Sikkim is preparing to host its first Sikkim Adventure Tourism Fest 2026, bringing together adventure sports, trekking expeditions, mountain biking and wildlife experiences across the state. The week-long festival will run from November 1 to 7, with Linkhim Tar in Namchi district serving as the main venue.

Organised by the Sikkim Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, the festival will feature more than 20 activities across all six districts. The initiative aims to attract tourists, promote nature-based travel and create opportunities for local communities.

Visitors can explore a range of outdoor experiences, including paragliding, river rafting, ziplining, hot-air ballooning, trekking, mountain biking and birdwatching. Officials said the activities would follow safety guidelines and operational procedures, with trained staff and certified operators involved wherever required, reported PTI.

Paragliding is expected to be one of the major attractions. Officials said participating team members had received training and registration under the Sikkim INSPIRES programme. Participants registering for the activity will also receive insurance coverage, Deputy Director Manoj Chettri told PTI.
