The ‘Neem Karoli Baba Circuit’ will link his birthplace Akbarpur in Firozabad, the Neem Karoli Baba Ashram Dham Temple in Farrukhabad, the Hanuman Setu Temple in Lucknow and the Samadhi Temple in Vrindavan, where the saint attained Mahasamadhi in 1973.
Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said the initiative seeks to preserve and promote the legacy of the saint, whose message of faith, simplicity and service continues to inspire people in India and abroad.
“Neem Karoli Baba’s Mahasamadhi Day is an occasion to remember a saint whose message of faith, simplicity and service continues to inspire people not only in India but across the world,” Singh said, according to an official statement.
He said the state government under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was working to preserve the saint’s legacy and promote the tourism potential of places associated with his life.
“The government is working to preserve his legacy and take it to people on a wider scale. Through tourism projects, improved facilities and specially designed tourism experiences, we are creating new opportunities for spiritual and cultural tourism in the state,” he said.
Around Rs 12.93 crore is being spent on tourism infrastructure and facilities in Firozabad and Farrukhabad.
At Akbarpur, Rs 8.65 crore has already been spent under the first phase of development. More than 60 per cent of the Rs 2.22-crore second phase has been completed and is targeted for completion by December 2026. A Rs 55.44-lakh rural tourism project is also set to begin.The development includes a multipurpose hall, cultural block, exhibition hall depicting Baba’s life and spiritual journey, dining hall, cafeteria, kitchen, toilets and dormitory accommodation for around 60 people.
The Rs 1.51-crore project to develop the Neem Karoli Ashram in Farrukhabad has already been completed, including accommodation and public facilities.
The five Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC) tour packages cover two-, three- and five-day journeys and will operate from Delhi and Lucknow based on demand, according to the statement.
Additional Chief Secretary and Tourism Director General Amrit Abhijat said the new circuit would add an important dimension to UP’s spiritual tourism offerings by connecting key sites associated with Baba’s life and making them more accessible to visitors.
