The Ministry of Civil Aviation is closely monitoring the situation in West Asia, which has affected air travel between India and the region. Airlines are making operational adjustments to ensure passenger safety and smooth flight operations.
On March 7, 51 inbound flights from West Asia carried a total of 8,175 passengers to India. For March 8, Indian carriers, including Air India, Air India Express, Indigo, SpiceJet, and Akasa, planned 49 inbound flights from airports such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Muscat, and Jeddah, subject to prevailing conditions.
As of March 8, 279 flights scheduled by Indian carriers have been cancelled due to the situation.
The Ministry said that Indian carriers are continuously assessing ground conditions at other regional airports to possibly increase operations. Airfares are also being monitored to prevent unreasonable price surges.
Passengers are advised to stay in touch with their airlines for real-time updates on flight schedules. The Ministry will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.
