The big iOS 26.4 update promises the new Siri AI version for iPhone users and Apple has a lot riding on it.

The iOS 26 update was Apple’s biggest revision not only in terms of the number but also the features and the overall interface for the iPhone users. However, spam calls getting tackled is one of the underrated additions that may have missed the highlights compared to Liquid Glass design and more.
Apple is slowly inching towards its big AI update this year and the iOS 26.4 beta version becomes more than just an important update for the company. We have been hearing about the new Siri version rolling out since 2024, when Apple was supposed to showcase the AI assistant in full glory running on the iPhone 16 model.
That did not happen, and it sounds like Apple is relying on Google to power its new AI ambitions, albeit that might happen later this year. For now, the focus shifts to the iOS 26.4 beta update, and as mentioned by Bloomberg, we could get our first glimpse of the Siri AI version later this month.
Almost Time
The report claims Apple could have the iOS 26.4 developer beta rolling out around February 23 with the Siri AI features. While the public beta of the same version could be available later in March.
The details about possible Siri AI launch were first revealed in an iOS 26 internal build that suggested Apple could announce the assistant around the Spring time this year. This falls in line with the earlier reports about Siri AI launch expected with the iOS 26 update that rolls out around March 2026.
You will need the iPhone 15 Pro or later models to try out the new Siri avatar as it is likely to be linked to the Apple Intelligence ecosystem.
Last Chance AI Saloon?
Having Siri AI talk more contextually is important because of where both Gemini and ChatGPT stand currently. In addition to this, Apple needs the new-look AI Siri to work better so that its smart home segment can expand and the assistant is pivotal for its success.
Google could have a big role to play in the Siri AI launch which could be derived from Gemini with Apple AI also expected to become a force. We are eager to see how the new look Siri performs and if the so-called AI aspirations could give it a more conversational tone rather than sounding like a robot.
Having said that, Apple’s reported deal with Google will have some intriguing details that may have slipped out from the latter. “We are collaborating with Apple as their preferred cloud provider and to develop the next generation of Apple Foundation Models, based on Gemini technology.” This statement is quite different from what reports have mentioned in the last few months since the Apple-Google deal was made public through media reports.
More importantly, it also contradicts what Apple chief Tim Cook said during their own earnings call, and highlighted that the Gemini-powered Siri and AI will be run through its private cloud compute system which eased the privacy concerns for millions of iPhone users. Cook assured that all of the AI features from the company will be processed on-device with the help of its private cloud compute setup.
