Yes, Xiaomi is hosting a big event on December 25, 2025 in China to unveil its latest Ultra flagship device and we also have got a closer look at the design and some of the camera specs of the phone.
Xiaomi is going to be offering a new Leica camera system on the device which is tipped to offer improved low-light photography and also launch in new bright colours this year.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra Launch In China: What To Expect
Xiaomi is clearly excited for the big launch this week, which explains why its CEO, Lei Jun has publicly shared details about the Xiaomi 17 Ultra camera setup. He has mentioned the phone will come with a Leica 1-inch light and shadow master primary sensor which uses advanced tech to improve the dynamic range of the images. The same tech is expected to make the video quality better with more details and smoother frames.
The 17 Ultra is also going to have a 200MP telephoto Leica lens with optical zoom and up to 100mm focal length range. The company claims the 200MP image quality will be delivered without any digital cropping.
The new Ultra phone should come with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, at least in China. The HyperOS 3 version is expected to be offered out of the box, hopefully with long OS support. Xiaomi 17 Ultra launch price will be a hot subject that people will be keen to see when it is announced on Thursday, and then have a direct link to its price in the global markets.
Some reports suggest the 17 Ultra could be part of Xiaomi’s global launch during the MWC 2026 in February next year, but will it be part of the plans for the Indian market as well? We’ll be eagerly waiting for more details.
