How to book the Vande Bharat Express train 15 minutes before departure?
The Indian Railways has upgraded the Passenger Reservation System (PRS). Passengers can now reserve seats up to 15 minutes before the train departs from their designated boarding station, with available seats displayed in real-time.
Visit the official website of IRCTC at www.irctc.co.in or use the IRCTC Rail Connect app.
Log in with your credentials and sign up if you are a new user.
Enter your travel details such as departure and arrival stations, date, and train type.
Check seat availability.
Choose your boarding station and class, such as Executive or Chair car.
Make the payment.
Once booked, you will receive the e-ticket on the registered mobile number or email address associated with your account.
Until today, you couldn’t reserve a seat at any of the stops along the way once a Vande Bharat train departed its starting station. This meant that travellers had no means to board midway, even if there were seats available.
