Swara Bhasker is no stranger to controversy — or courage. Known for her outspoken opinions and sharp wit, the actress is back in the spotlight after embracing motherhood. As she returns to work with her new reality show Pati Patni Aur Panga, Swara reflects on her journey — from navigating career roadblocks to facing judgment for her voice — and why she refuses to apologise for who she is.

After taking a short break to focus on motherhood, Swara Bhasker has returned to sets with a reality show that fits perfectly into her current life. “I have a bad reputation on Twitter, so I’m very polite in real life. I have to overcompensate. The concept was cute, the money was good, but most importantly, it was something I could manage as a new mom,” she said with a laugh.

Reflecting on her acting journey, Swara admits that finding strong roles isn’t always easy for outsiders. “Actors can only choose from what they’re offered. For outsiders without big connections, sometimes the offers aren’t great. But I’ve always chosen work I can stand by,” she shared.

The actress, known for memorable performances in Nil Battey Sannata, Anarkali of Aarah and Veere Di Wedding, says her career has been built on taking risks — both on screen and off. “People are often uncomfortable with women who are too confident or opinionated. I’ve paid a price for being outspoken. Some people find me too controversial to cast in their projects, but I have no regrets. Every stand I’ve taken comes from my principles,” she said.

Swara insists she has no plans to change her personality for the sake of popularity. “You fight for what you believe in — that’s who I am,” she said firmly.

Opening up about her marriage to politician Fahad Ahmad, the actress admitted that her public image sometimes creates challenges for her husband. “It’s been harder for Fahad because I already have an overwhelming reputation. It’s not easy for politicians to have wives who are noisy and attract attention,” she joked.

Despite public scrutiny, Swara says her marriage has been full of warmth and understanding. “My experience has been opposite of the stereotypes. Fahad’s family has been kind, generous, and understanding. I feel blessed,” she shared.
