Looks like fireworks aren’t just a part of Katy Perry’s hit songs anymore, they’ve lit up her love life too! The pop sensation and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have finally put rumours to rest by confirming their relationship. The duo made their first public appearance as a couple in Paris, no less, and on Katy’s 41st birthday.
According to TMZ, Katy and Justin were spotted enjoying a night out at the iconic Crazy Horse Paris cabaret. When they stepped out of the venue, the couple couldn’t stop smiling as they walked hand-in-hand, much to the delight of fans and paparazzi waiting outside.

One lucky fan even wished Katy a happy birthday and handed her a rose, while Justin, ever the gentleman, escorted her to their car. Katy looked stunning in a striking red dress, while Trudeau kept things classic in a sleek black suit.
Whispers about Katy and Justin’s romance started weeks ago after cozy photos of the two surfaced from her yacht near Santa Barbara. Photos obtained by The Daily Mail showed the Firework singer in a black swimsuit, embracing and kissing a shirtless Trudeau, who was seen in denim jeans. The two appeared relaxed and affectionate, enjoying the ocean breeze as they lounged together on deck.

A bystander who reportedly witnessed the moment told the outlet, “She pulled up her boat next to a small public whale-watching boat, then they started making out. I didn’t realise who she was with until I saw the tattoo on the guy’s arm and I immediately realised it was Justin Trudeau.”
Neither Perry nor Trudeau have publicly addressed the rumours surrounding their relationship. The pair were first linked in July, after they were spotted having dinner together in Montreal. Trudeau was also seen attending Perry’s Lifetimes tour concert in Canada shortly after.
Adding to the buzz, during a concert in London shortly after, Katy had playfully hinted at a new romance. When a fan got down on one knee to propose, she quipped, “I wish you’d asked me 48 hours ago.” The audience erupted, especially when she cheekily added, “London, England, you’re like this on a Monday night after a whole day at work and a whole day at school? No wonder I fall for Englishmen all the time… but not anymore.”
Before finding love again, Katy was in a long-term relationship with actor Orlando Bloom. The pair began dating in 2016, got engaged in 2019, and share a daughter, Daisy Dove. However, they called it quits earlier this year.
Their reps confirmed the split in a joint statement to Page Six, saying, “Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting.”
The statement added, “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
Trudeau, meanwhile, revealed in August 2023 that he and his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, were separating after 18 years of marriage. The former couple share three children — Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11.
