Nawazuddin Siddiqui teams up with Mission Impossible actor Ilia Volok for Faraar, a thrilling international heist film packed with action, emotion, and suspense.

Bollywood powerhouse Nawazuddin Siddiqui is set to share screen space with Mission Impossible actor Ilia Volok in their upcoming action-heist thriller Faraar.
While Nawazuddin Siddiqui readies for his Diwali release Thama, the actor already seems to have his next big-screen transformation lined up. HT City has learned that Siddiqui will soon be seen in an all-new avatar — that of a Physics professor — in an upcoming heist thriller tentatively titled Faraar. The film, which blends intellectual tension with high-stakes action, promises to showcase Nawazuddin in a space he’s rarely explored before.
The project also marks an ambitious crossover between Indian and international cinema, with a Hollywood name joining the cast and a Money Heist connection adding global appeal.
Ilia Volok Joins As Antagonist
Joining Siddiqui in Faraar is Hollywood actor Ilia Volok, best known for his roles in Mission: Impossible, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and Indiana Jones. Volok will play the film’s antagonist, locking horns with Siddiqui’s character in what insiders describe as a cerebral clash between two powerful minds.
Known for his intensity and screen presence, Volok’s casting is already being seen as a creative statement by director Kushagra Sharma, who aims to redefine the modern villain.
“Casting Ilia Volok opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui was a creative decision driven by the desire to reintroduce the essence of a powerful, layered villain while breaking away from conventional portrayals,” Sharma shared. “As cinema becomes increasingly global, it’s essential to bring together two performers who embody depth, intensity, and authenticity.”
The director further added that Nawazuddin’s brilliance on screen demanded a counterpart who could match his gravitas. “Ilia Volok brings that rare combination of unpredictability and emotional weight,” he said.
Nimisha Sajayan And Money Heist Composer Join The Team
The ensemble cast also features Nimisha Sajayan, who recently earned praise for her performance in Dabba Cartel. Her inclusion adds yet another dimension to the film’s already intriguing lineup.
Adding to the film’s global sheen, Iván Lacámara, the acclaimed Spanish composer behind Money Heist, has been roped in to design the background score for Faraar. Known for his pulsating and tension-driven music, Lacámara’s sonic style is expected to give the film a thrilling, international texture.
“With the Money Heist composer crafting the background score, audiences can expect a sound that takes the thrill to the next level,” Sharma noted. “This is a film meant to be felt as much as it’s watched — a true big-screen experience.”
A Global Heist Story With An Indian Heart
Faraar aims to merge the emotional complexity of Indian storytelling with the sleek intensity of international heist dramas. While plot details remain under wraps, sources suggest that Siddiqui’s character — a brilliant but morally conflicted Physics professor — becomes entangled in a scheme that tests both his intellect and his conscience.
For Siddiqui, who’s built a reputation for immersing himself in unconventional roles, Faraar may well mark a new chapter in his already diverse filmography. His portrayal promises to blend intelligence with unpredictability — the kind of character arc that’s become his hallmark.
With Kushagra Sharma at the helm, Ilia Volok bringing Hollywood gravitas, and Iván Lacámara setting the tempo, Faraar is shaping up to be a rare hybrid — a heist film that’s as emotionally resonant as it is thrilling.
When contacted, Nawazuddin Siddiqui remained unavailable for comment.
