Actor Jaideep Ahlawat has come a long way in his film journey. From a village in Haryana to the posh locales of Mumbai, Jaideep has achieved immense success. He is considered one of the most talented actors in Bollywood today and has been a part of many successful and acclaimed projects. In a recent chat with Mens XP, the actor reflected on his film journey.

Jaideep Ahlawat said that sometimes he thinks about how far he has come in life. “Village life was wonderful. It was different, but not difficult. We didn’t have a care in the world. There was nobody around to judge you,” he said.

Jaideep Ahlawat said, “But it’s a huge change, coming from a village to living in Mumbai. Sometimes I feel that the arc is simply too huge. I’ve seen it all, from picking up cow dung to partying on the rooftop of a seven-star hotel.”

Jaideep Ahlawat added, “But this journey has given me a host of references. I have lived in a village, then in Rohtak, then in Pune, and now in Mumbai. I learned swimming by holding onto a cow’s tail; it’s a reference that I have.”

The actor mentioned, “But I have also lived in a literal palace. My life has given me the opportunity to travel the world and learn about different cultures. I am more aware now, socially and politically. My references are very strong.”

Jaideep said that while he lived in a 2BHK for years, when he finally bought his own house, his first thought was that he wanted a bigger one. “I used to live in a 2BHK for 15 years, and here I was, dissatisfied,” he said.

“We didn’t have much money, and could only afford one pair of shoes a year,” he said. The actor mentioned that though he can now make big purchases, like his house, he feels dissatisfied.

“When I bought my dream house, my first thought was, ‘Next time, I’ll get a bigger one’. That’s human nature; we’re never satisfied with what we have,” he said.

This year, reports mention that the actor has bought two properties, which are collectively worth Rs 20 crore- a sign of the actor’s success.

Jaideep Ahlawat’s breakthrough came with Paatal Lok. He will now be seen in the next season of The Family Man.
