‘Salman Khan Will Lick Our Boots’: Abhinav Kashyap Says It’s ‘Written In Actor’s Destiny’ | Bollywood News

Abhinav Kashyap has reignited his feud with Salman Khan, claiming the actor’s support for Anurag Kashyap’s film is fake and meant to silence him.

Filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap, Anurag Kashyap's brother, called Salman Khan a gunda recently.

Abhinav Kashyap has once again taken aim at Salman Khan, accusing the superstar of using his brother Anurag Kashyap as a shield. The Dabangg director claims Salman’s praise for Anurag’s new film isn’t genuine but a calculated attempt to silence him.

“It is written in Salman Khan’s destiny…”

Speaking to Bollywood Thikana, Abhinav alleged that Salman’s recent backing of Anurag’s film Nishaanchi is nothing more than a cover-up. “It is written in Salman Khan’s destiny that he will lick our boots,” he said, suggesting the actor is trying to “show that he’s our supporter” in response to his explosive remarks.

He continued, “Wait and watch… Perhaps they’re trying to get me to shut up via my brother. Maybe they think Anurag will talk to me and tell me not to speak. That’s why he’s praising my brother’s film and doing his ‘chamchagiri’. This is how talentless people get ahead in life.”

The Tere Naam fallout

Abhinav also recalled how Salman had once clashed with Anurag during the making of Tere Naam. He stressed that Anurag wasn’t removed from the project but left after differences.

In his own words, Anurag said, during a chat with  Samdish Bhatia, “I was not asked to leave Tere Naam, the film ghosted on me. I just asked Salman to grow chest hair and he also didn’t say anything. It was the producer who reacted.” He explained that though the scripting was done and he was fully involved, the shoot went ahead without him.

Directed by Satish Kaushik, Tere Naam eventually released in 2003. Anurag added, “I’ve never met him since then. I have come across him once or twice and said ‘hello’.”

Amjad Khan example

Drawing a parallel, Abhinav pointed to the late Amjad Khan’s decision to never work again with Salman’s father, Salim Khan, after hearing he had doubted his performance in Sholay. Abhinav claimed this history of broken trust mirrors his own experience with the Khans.

Released in 2003, Tere Naam is a romantic drama directed by Satish Kaushik and starring Salman Khan and Bhumika Chawla. The film, a remake of the Tamil hit Sethu, follows the tragic love story of Radhe, a rebellious man whose life takes a dark turn after he falls for a simple college girl. Known for Salman’s intense performance, his long-haired look, and Himesh Reshammiya’s hit soundtrack, Tere Naam became a cult classic and is still remembered as one of the actor’s most emotional roles.
