Yoon Ji On has been filming for Positively Yours since July. But after his DUI incident on September 16, he decided to back out.

South Korean actor Yoon Ji On, known for his roles in Be Melodramatic, Memorist and Love Next Door, admitted to driving under the influence of alcohol. Shortly after the incident came to light, he issued an apology to his fans and even announced his departure from the upcoming drama Positively Yours. His decision has left the drama’s production in uncertainty as filming was already underway.

Taking to his Instagram account on Wednesday, September 17, Yoon Ji On shared an apology, expressing his remorse for his actions and admitting to riding a motorcycle while being heavily intoxicated. “I feel heavy-hearted and apologise for having to share such unfortunate news. On September 16, I was so intoxicated that I could not remember my actions and committed the wrongdoing of unauthorizedly riding a motorcycle parked on the road. I have since admitted to all charges and am currently assessing the damage,” he shared. Alongside his apology, he posted a black image.

Yoon Ji On Shared That He Will “Cooperate Sincerely” With The Investigation

The actor continued, “My reckless actions have caused pain and disappointment to many who supported me, and I am truly ashamed. I apologise.” He further vowed to live with vigilance from now onwards, saying, “I will live with vigilance and regret for the rest of my life to ensure this never happens again. I will cooperate sincerely with the upcoming investigation and accept any penalties imposed.” He once again apologised to his fans and followers, writing, “There is no room for any excuse. I bow my head once again to apologise. I am sorry.”

According to reports, the 35-year-old actor has now dropped out of the upcoming K-drama Positively Yours, featuring Choi Jin Hyuk and Oh Yeon Seo. The filming began in July, and the cast reportedly completed the shoot for more than half of the series as production was slated to wrap by December. Now, with Yoon Ji On’s sudden exit from the K-drama, the production team faces significant challenges.

What’s Positively Yours About?

Positively Yours is based on a webtoon by the same name. The story will follow two individuals who vowed never to get married in this lifetime. However, their lives get entangled when they have a wild one-night stand. Besides Choi Jin Hyuk and Oh Yeon Seo, the rom-com will also feature Kim Da Som. The Channel A drama is scheduled to air in the first half of 2026. However, with Yoon Ji On backing out unexpectedly, the drama may face some delays.
