Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has a lighthearted take on his wedding plans with Taylor Swift. While fans are eagerly awaiting updates, Kelce insists that tying the knot will be far simpler than what he’s dealing with on the football field.
The tight end shared his thoughts during the latest episode of his New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce. When asked about his engagement to the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker and whether wedding planning was already underway, Kelce kept things playful.
“That one’s going to be easy,” he said. “I’ve just got to figure out how to win a football game first.”

Kelce’s comments came on the heels of the Chiefs’ rough start to the 2025 NFL season. After falling short against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl earlier this year, the team has opened the new season with two consecutive losses, including another defeat to the Eagles on Sunday.
“The wedding’s going to be easy compared to trying to catch a football,” Kelce quipped, drawing a comparison between his professional challenges and personal milestones. The joke highlighted his ability to laugh at the team’s current struggles while still embracing excitement for his future with Swift.
What Travis And Taylor Have Planned
While Kelce didn’t spill too many secrets, he did reveal one special detail about the upcoming nuptials. On his podcast, he shared that he and Swift are leaning toward having live music at the wedding instead of a DJ.
Though the couple has not shared a date or venue, fans have been buzzing with anticipation ever since the engagement was confirmed. According to People, the event is expected to be a “private affair,” allowing the pair to celebrate surrounded by close family and friends rather than in the spotlight.
For now, Kelce is keeping his focus on turning the Chiefs’ season around. But if his lighthearted comments are any indication, he’s more than ready to make wedding planning a touchdown with Swift.
