Mohammad Yousuf’s remarks on Suryakumar Yadav spark outrage on social media
Former Pakistan batter Mohammad Yousuf has landed in huge trouble. He has been constantly attacked on social media for making distasteful comments about India’s T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, on national television.
The Pakistan cricket fraternity was left disappointed after the Indian contingent denied shaking hands with the men in green on Sunday. The Indian skipper headed straight to the dressing room after scripting Pakistan’s humiliation in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai. While Pakistan’s former cricketers and the cricket board have expressed agony and disappointment over the episode, Yousuf stooped to several levels low to abuse an Indian cricketer publicly.
Yousuf deliberately distorted Suryakumar’s name, calling him a pig repeatedly.
Once the video hit social media, it triggered anger among fans, leading to personal remarks.

Mohammad Yousuf, current coach and former player of Pak was initially born in a Hindu family named Youhana but he was forced to convert and become Muslim in 2005 to get a chance in the pak team. This is the reality of Pakistan. https://t.co/O7otn8Y2BJ pic.twitter.com/8JgAqehR6U

But in Pakistan, a minority cricketer has to convert (Yousuf Yohana) to pay his lifetime subscription or escape from Pakistan ( Danish Kaneria – Pakistan se zinda bhaag). This peace of shit Farid, always posts such tweets to lick 👅 the foji boots bcoz after all he has to pay… pic.twitter.com/peuQxqMNZb— Arif Aajakia (@arifaajakia) July 22, 2025
Later on Tuesday, the former Pakistan batter came up with a social media post but refused to apologise for his shamefulness. Instead of saying sorry, he openly justified his statement and even dragged former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan to add to the chaos.
I didn’t mean any disrespect to any sportsman who plays for his country with passion and grace, but why were the Indian media and people praising Irfan Pathan when he said that Shahid Khan Afridi was barking like a dog? Shouldn’t that have been rejected by everyone who talks…— Mohammad Yousaf (@yousaf1788) September 16, 2025
Former cricketers from Pakistan should be made to pass some sort of exam, or should be given strict guidelines on what not to say, before they are allowed to cover cricket tournaments on national television.Yousuf’s disgraceful comments aren’t the first time this has happened.

Who can trust you? You changed your religion just to remain relevant. In reality, a person like you is totally irrelevant.Shame on you.

Mr. Yousaf is a lifetime example reflecting the culture of Pakistani Cricket now a days.— Amit Kumar (@AmitCSS11) September 16, 2025
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been crying foul about the match referee — in this case, former Zimbabwe international Andy Pycroft — since the match ended. They have accused him of telling Suryakumar Yadav and his Pakistan counterpart not to shake hands at the toss, and then overall going against the Code of Conduct rules set up by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
However, the governing body rejected Pakistan’s demand to remove Pycroft from the panel of officials for the ongoing Asia Cup despite the PCB’s reported threat of a pullout that would cause heavy financial loss to the country.
