The India-Pakistan clash at the Asia Cup 2025 is not just another cricket match — it comes against the tense backdrop of Operation Singer, which has strained relations between the two countries. Yet, cricket remains one of the rare arenas where the rivalry plays out in front of millions, carrying equal weight on both sporting and political fronts. With the format allowing multiple potential encounters between the arch-rivals, including a possible final, the September 14 showdown in Dubai has become the most anticipated fixture of the tournament. This is the stage on which Bollywood actor Zayed Khan has made his bold call, declaring that India will “100 per cent” defeat Pakistan.

Speaking to reporters, the 45-year-old actor backed Suryakumar Yadav’s men to dominate. “India is going to outshine everyone, you know what I mean. I believe India is a fantastic team and mujhe lagta hai ki 100 per cent India jeetne waali hai,” he said, predicting nothing less than victory.

On whether India should keep playing Pakistan despite strained relations, Khan was equally clear. “Kyun nahin yaar. Sports sports hote hain. Usme kya hai. Wahan jitne thode bahut sambandh ban sakte hain, banne do,” he said, stressing that cricket can still build bridges between the two countries.

India started their campaign with a dominant win over the UAE, bowling them out for just 57 before chasing the target with ease. Now, all eyes are on September 14, when India face Pakistan at 8 pm IST at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. It will be the sixth game of the tournament, and Suryakumar Yadav’s first match as captain against Pakistan.

With the Asia Cup format allowing multiple face-offs between the arch-rivals, fans could see as many as three encounters, including a possible final showdown.

Meanwhile, now, on the work front, Zayed is all set to make his digital debut with The Film That Never Was.
