Plans also include the development of scenic ghats, selfie points, and recreational spaces along the banks of Govind Sagar Lake. “A glass bridge and ropeway project will also be constructed here, which will give a special identity to the tourism of Bilaspur. It will become a centre of attraction for tourists,” Kumar said.
In addition, the complex will feature shops for local self-help groups, creating avenues for livelihood and entrepreneurship. “This initiative will not only strengthen the local economy but will also help in making women and youth self-reliant,” the Deputy Commissioner added.

According to officials, work on these projects will commence shortly, PTI reported. “These schemes will promote tourism activities not only in Mandi Bharari but in the entire Bilaspur district. Along with this, locals, including the youth, will get employment and self-employment opportunities,” Kumar shared.
The Mandi Bharari region in Himachal Pradesh’s Bilaspur district is set for a major facelift, with plans to transform it into a modern tourist centre featuring advanced infrastructure and visitor facilities, officials said on Friday.
