Teyana Taylor talked about what surprises Leonardo DiCaprio gave her while working on One Battle After Another.

Teyana Taylor and Leonardo DiCaprio are set to star in Paul Thomas Anderson’s upcoming film One Battle After Another. The American action thriller will hit the theatres on September 26. Ahead of its grand premiere, the singer-turned-actress shared her experience of working with DiCaprio, and where they first met.
In a recent conversation, Teyana Taylor was asked about her first impressions of One Battle After Another co-star Leonardo DiCaprio. To this, she revealed what surprised her most about her co-star. “There were no real surprises,” she said to E! News, adding, “I mean, it’s still Leonardo DiCaprio. Like, even in him being dead serious, it’s still being funny.”
Teyana Taylor And Leonardo DiCaprio’s First Meeting
One Battle After Another, directed by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson, also marks the 34-year-old actress’ first on-screen collaboration with DiCaprio. However, this was not their first meeting. They had crossed paths for the first time at Diana Ross’ birthday party.
Recalling the same incident, DiCaprio had said, “We were just joking around. She’s got the best sense of humour,” and also mentioned knowing her from before. He revealed that he was informed that the makers were considering Taylor as the female lead. Unveiling what he thought about the same, the Titanic star added, “This girl’s going to bring the heat, and she did.”
Teyana Taylor Reacted To Leonardo DiCaprio’s Version Of Their First Meeting
Recalling their first meeting, Taylor mentioned that she was chewing gum and enjoying Diana Ross’ performance when she realised DiCaprio was standing behind her. “We kind of sized each other up, and from there we hit it off instantly,” she shared in the same conversation, adding that they are now “inseparable.”
Furthermore, discussing their bond on set, Taylor admitted that she was initially starstruck. And they had also joked about her “resting b****face” during their first meeting. Later, praising DiCaprio, she called him “a mentor and a great leader on the set.” She also talked highly about his humour and professionalism.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After’s Plot
The action thriller film features Leonardo DiCaprio and Teyana Taylor opposite one another. Loosely based on the 1990 novel Vineland by Thomas Pynchon, the film’s story centres around a group of ex-revolutionaries who reunite after 16 years to rescue the daughter of one of their own. Presented by Warner Bros, the movie also stars Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall and Chase Infiniti in her film debut.
