Disha Patani has reportedly joined Emraan Hashmi in Awarapan 2 as the female lead. The sequel, set against the gangster world, is slated for release in April 2026.

Emraan Hashmi gave the biggest gift to his fans on his recent birthday as he announced the sequel to his 2007 cult-classic Awarapan. Now, a new report suggests that Disha Patani has joined the film as the lead opposite Emraan Hashmi, and much like the first part, this one too is going to be an intense love story.
As per a report in Pinkvilla, Mukesh Bhatt and Nitin Kakkar have roped in Disha Patani to play the female lead of Awarapan 2 opposite Emraan. The portal quoted a source saying, “Much like Awarapan, the sequel too is an intense love story, set against the backdrop of the gangster world. The spirit of the first part is intact, and the makers are expanding the world into a sequel format with 2x the romance and 2x the emotions. Emraan Hashmi will be playing Shivam Pandit, whereas details of Disha’s character have been kept under wraps.”
Awarapan 2 Announcement
On his birthday, Emraan had announced the sequel to his 2007 much-loved romance drama. The clip also features Emraan’s iconic character from the film, standing on a boat, looking at the sun setting behind the city’s skyline. Emraan is also seen setting a bird free from the cage, while he narrates, “Kisi aur ki zindagi ke liye marna hi meri manzil hai (To die for someone else’s life is my destiny).” “Awarapan 2, The journey continues,” reads the text at the end of the teaser. The song Tera Mera Rishta from the 2007 film plays in the background. The actor shared the teaser and announced that the sequel will release in theatres in 2026. “Bas mujhe kuch aur der zinda rakh… #Awarapan2 in cinemas, 3rd April 2026. #Awarapan2,” read the caption.
Awarapan 2’s announcement left fans excited. Reacting to the news, fans showed their love. “Bday gift de diya bhai ne, most awaited Awarapan, watching in theater,” wrote one fan, while another commented, “Damn !!!!!! I just can’t wait !!!!!” Many others expressed their excitement for the film’s music, while others wished Emraan a happy birthday.
